Fall 2014 in Albuquerque is loaded exciting entertainment for people of all ages. In fact, it is so exciting that I had to create a list to keep track of everything I wanted to do through November, making sure to hit the Balloon Fiesta at least one day. I sure hope everyone enjoys my top 8 list of things to do in Albuquerque this fall.

8.) University of New Mexico Lobos Football Game – Enjoy a game of college football at university Stadium, as the Lobo’s make their way to a bowl game. Make sure to check the schedule to find the next home game. To date, that’s against San Diego State on Friday, October 10th.
7.) ABQ Breaking Bad Fan Fest –The first annual Albuquerque Breaking Bad Fan Fest allows fans of the hit TV show Breaking Bad to meet members of the cast, visit filming sites, and mingle with fans from around the world. Here, there will be dozens of events and happenings for visitors to enjoy.
6.) 8th Annual Day of the Tread – This family oriented Halloween-themed event takes place on October 26th, and includes a charitable 12-100 mile bike ride, half & full marathon, and a 5k/10k run/walk. Bring your best costume and have fun while donating to charity.
5.) Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival – This festival is ranked 6th in the nation and features over 280 artists and tradespeople from around the nation. This event also takes place during the Balloon Fiesta, and features entertainment, live music, food, and drinks.
4.) Southwest Bacon Fest – Enjoy bacon treats, live music, and entertainment from over 25 culinary vendors. The event will feature a bacon eating contest, photography, film screening, local breweries, and much more. This event takes place on Saturday, October 18th.
3.) Trolley of Terror - Experience a chilling trolley ride visiting several haunted Albuquerque locations. This trolley will take you through many locations including locations of duels, murders, public hangings, and haunted houses. This trolley is rated R for adult subject matter, and lasts through the month of October.
2.) River of Lights – From November 29 to January 3, this walk-through holiday production features millions of glowing, sparkling lights, over 150 displays, and synchronized sculptures. It is one of New Mexico’s largest walk-through holiday productions.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta – Between October 4, 2014 and October 12, 2014, The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta celebrates over three decades of hundreds of hot air balloons at the Balloon Fiesta Park – Multi-Use Sport Facility. This world-renowned attraction features many activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. This is a must see attraction for anyone in the Albuquerque area, which is why it tops off our top 10 things to do in Albuquerque’s fall list.
No matter if you are visiting from out of town, or live in Albuquerque, these events are always fun and enjoyable for all. Of course, if you are in need of a place to stay, there are several hotels throughout town, including an excellent Enchanted Skies Package at the historic Hotel Andaluz.
